Calton Road, Edinburgh 33KV

IQA recently completed the installation of lighting, emergency lighting and small power outlets within the new 33kv sub-station at Calton Road in Edinburgh.  The works involved the installation of steel containment and also steel wire armoured cabling to the main sub-station unit, cable ducts and adjacent transformer rooms.  The entire installation met the requirements of IP65 (Ingress Protection for weatherproofing) and included weatherproof switches, socket outlets and light fittings to meet the client’s specification.  All work was completed in compliance with the client’s safe systems of work utilising suitably skilled and authorised IQA personnel.
