IQA Group is committed to the health and safety of our employees and customers, and has a health and safety management system which is regularly reviewed and updated to ensure we are compliant with current legislation. We carry out regular health and safety audits on our employees to ensure that they adhere to our internal procedures and current legislation. We provide regular training for our employees to re-iterate the importance of health and safety to themselves and those around them.
IQA Group has been awarded with an International Safety Award from the British Safety Council for the last three years. The award is presented annually to companies who satisfy the British Safety Council's prescribed requirements in relation to health and safety.
We also offer the following Health and Safety Services to businesses that may require assistance complying with current health and safety legislation:
An initial audit of any existing procedures in place will be carried out which will be followed up by a report recommending areas for improvement. Assistance can be given implementing any recommended improvements.
IQA constantly monitor and assess the competency of their electrical operatives at regular intervals, this takes place in the instruction room at our head office in Paisley.
The operatives are tasked to complete a series of metering booths, and must demonstrate how to test polarity, earth loop impedance test and find a series of defects on pre-wired fault boards.
In addition, they have to complete written assessments based on the Scottish Power safety rules handbook and in line with the level of authorisation they currently hold.
All our operatives are given internal health and safety awareness training which includes manual handling, asbestos awareness, work at height and risk assessment. In addition they attend several external courses which include Safety Passport, First Aid Awareness and PASMA (Scaffold).
