David-Gowans.jpgDavid Gowans, Chairman

David started his career as an apprentice electrician with Scottish Power in 1991 and continued in an operations role until training as a Quantity Surveyor. He continued in a commercial role as Contracts Officer at SAIC before returning to the Utilities sector and starting the Electrical business within IQA. With a philosophy of people development and reward, David continues to drive IQA forward into a market leader.

Greg previously worked, in senior roles, with Scottish Power, Mowlem, Inexus Group, Independent Power Networks Ltd, and Connect Utilities Ltd. Greg is responsible at IQA for developing new business opportunities in our core business with new customers and other areas such as renewable energy.

An experienced Contracts Engineer with major Electrical & Utility companies in the past, Chris heads all operational functions within IQA and has created this from inception in 2005. His customer focus and relationship with the workforce has been the key to success the Company has enjoyed over the years.

David-McKinlay.jpgDavid McKinlay, Electrical Compliance & Training Manager

A Director who assisted in the development of the Utilities business, David now manages the training and development of operational staff, ensuring compliance with the stringent processes that need to be followed. From the in-house facility, David provides valuable training to our resources including the many Apprentices and Trainees that IQA invests in.

James Paterson, Business Manager

James joined IQA in April 2011 and manages the IT, Transport, Marketing, Facilities and Property Departments.

A Member of the Institute of Financial Accountants John worked for a USA based International Company for 15 years before moving to work in General Practice in 1995 where he has been providing external expertise and advice to several businesses across the UK. John now oversees all finance functions at IQA and is assisting the Directors and Management in the ongoing development of the business.

 

Brian-Ward.jpg Brian Ward, Electrical Operations Manager (Scotland)

Brian joined IQA as an electrician in 2005 and has steadily taken on more responsibility firstly as Electrical Supervisor and then Operations Engineer. He was key to the growth of the team when he took over the running of the Multi Storey Flat projects. With great drive and enthusiasm, Brian has now progressed to his current role as Operations Manager and manages the day-to-day running of the utilities business in Scotland.

Carl Rugen, Electrical Operations Manager (North-West England)

Carl joined IQA in November 2010 and brings with him a wealth of knowledge that has been built up in the 30 years spent in Electrical Utility & Contracting businesses. Starting out as an apprentice Electrician he has worked his way through the various ranks of the supervisory and management team. Carl’s role in IQA is to manage and build our expanding operations in the North West of England.

Chris-Niven.jpgChris Niven, Civils Operations Manager (Scotland)

Chris joined IQA in September 2009 having gained nearly 20 years’ experience within the electrical industry.  Upon completion of his apprenticeship Chris gained valuable experience in Estimating, Health & Safety Management and ISO:9002 Quality Systems before assuming a role as Contracts Engineer.  Chris’s role within IQA is to manage and develop our expanding operations in Building Services and Sub-Station maintenance works.

Ashley-Richardson.jpgAshley Richardson, HR Advisor

Having joined the Company in 2006 on a one year University placement, Ashley has now progressed within the Company to take on the role of HR Advisor. In the final year of a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management, Ashley brings valuable knowledge to the team. She oversees all HR matters, recruitment and selection and also advises on the interpretation and implementation of the Company HR policies and procedures. Ashley is also a CIPD associate.

Experienced in process improvements and having taken on roles within different industries, Ken brings a wealth of experience in business systems and processes. He joined IQA in 2010 and advises on all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality matters within the Company. He is key to IQA's goal of obtaining accreditation to ISO 9001 and 140001 whilst ensuring the business operates within all current legislation.
