Services distribution currently undertakes the replacement of cableheads. Our teams of jointers and labourers work in collaboration to replace old and iron clad cableheads, which can be done using two different techniques – live, by an authorised cable jointer, or cut outside, whereby the cable is excavated by the labour team prior to being cut and changed safely by the jointing team.
When replacing a cablehead, IQA will also look at the existing supply to decide whether any other work is required.
IQA’s experienced engineers and managers hold extensive knowledge and skills in this area. As our jointers regularly work in live environments, our teams hold the relevant network authorisations, including WI1, WL2, OP2 and OP3 Scottish Power energy network authorisations.
IQA adheres to the strictest safety precautions through risk assessments, toolbox talks and ongoing audits.
From the beginning to end, all IQA teams work cohesively to ensure that all projects are delivered to the highest quality standards and safety levels every time.
IQA has the specialist skills, expertise and knowledge with senior authorised engineers, electricians, jointers, linesman and joiners to enable us to offer individual or turnkey distribution network engineering and service solutions.
